Discover the Fraternity Moai – Mana Tapu Ao: An extraordinary project in the Valley of the Saints
La Vallée des Saints, the Breton sanctuary in Carnoët, is preparing to welcome an exceptional project: the Brotherhood Moai – Mana Tapu Ao. From 15 September to 15 October 2025, two sculptors from Easter Island, Alberto Ika Araki and José Ika Sanchez, will join forces with Kito Antoine and Vincent Lemaçon, artists from La Vallée des Saints, to create the first Moai sculpted in Breton granite. More than 5 metres high and weighing 15 tonnes, this unique work will celebrate the historic links between Brittany and Rapa Nui, while also forming part of an educational and cultural initiative.
Financed by the Fondation Aéroport de Paris and a crowdfunding campaign among Bretons and friends of Brittany, the project aims to raise awareness among Breton schoolchildren through workshops on art, history and sustainability, in partnership with the Breizh Chile Rapa Nui Association and the Rapa Nui Municipality. After exhibitions in Brest, Quemper-Guézennec and Rennes, the Moai de la Fraternité – Mana Tapu Ao will take pride of place in a memorial space dedicated to Paul-Antoine Fleuriot de Langle, engraving the legacy of this fraternity in granite.
Join this adventure by supporting our crowdfunding campaign (see below) and become part of a living heritage.

Keep up to date with the project, find out about the stages of creation, and take part in the inauguration. La Vallée des Saints is Breton art, education and eternity at the service of the world!
