Because of its layout, the Valley of the Saints is open to everyone, especially families. Once past the car park, the site is entirely pedestrianised and children can run around the statues in complete peace.
The site is grassed over and although it is still accessible to pushchairs, visiting with one is a bit ‘sporty’. However, there is a gravel path around the site that leads to a number of statues.
Sculpted benches, known as korribancs, are dotted around the site, allowing visitors to rest and take their time admiring the statues.
For children, a “treasure hunt” booklet sold at the shop reception desk takes them on a search for clues to answer questions about the statues on the site.
There are picnic tables freely available on site, and marquees in case of rain, as well as a catering service and a reception building that also houses the shop.
